The Weekly Travel Edit
Human curation in the world of AI, where travel insiders are headed this summer, and a hotel by the sea in Spain
Ramblings du jour
One of the things I love most about this platform is the interesting content I stumble upon that I ordinarily would never find. Last week, one of the other Substacks I subscribe to recommended this article on “The Curation Renaissance." While it isn’t directly related to travel, its premise rang true when considering the sources you use for destination, hotel, and itinerary research.
My big takeaway was that in a world exploding with content that can sometimes feel generic and repetitive (especially with the introduction of AI), it’s critical to find curators and voices who filter information to offer a perspective or POV that truly resonates with you. I know that in my "follow” list, there are voices I go to for everything from an opinion on fashion to interior design to a meal review that I trust over a more well-known publication, often meant to appeal to all audiences.
As you think of assembling your POV for an upcoming trip, I think it is more relevant than ever to work with someone who can make something tailored for your goals, tastes, and top experiences that are worth your time. As the article so aptly stated, “we're witnessing the inevitable restoration of human judgment as the primary creator of cultural value.”
I have always seen travel as an investment. Not just in the financial sense, but in the memories, experiences with those you love, and the shared storytelling it creates. Truly priceless and worth nailing every time.

Hotel on my radar

Perched along Marbella’s storied Golden Mile, the Marbella Club is a legendary beachfront retreat that has seamlessly blended Andalusian charm with refined luxury since its founding in 1954 by Prince Alfonso von Hohenlohe. Once a haven for icons like Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly, the resort now offers 115 rooms and suites, 17 villas, and lush subtropical gardens that invite guests into a world of understated elegance and serenity.
